On Friday, We drove out to Lake Austin, to meet Ray, Charlene and Scott for lunch at the Oasis. The gardens were lush, though it had to be 95.

Being the first to arrive, we got to decide whether to eat outside on one of the many terraced decks, or inside the newly rebuilt building. Guess which I chose?

We opted for the third floor where we could look out over the grounds, the high country, and Lake Austin.

We had a delightfully leisure lunch and got caught up on each others' news since last summer in Colorado.

Scott works close to the restaurant, so joined us. Amy and the "cousins" were enjoying the lazy summer afternoon at the pool back home in Dripping Springs.

Somebody tell a joke, this is way to serious of a pix.

And so our time together draws to a close and goodbye's must be said. We really appreciated Ray and Charlie driving the 3 hours over to see us.

Here is a view of Lake Austin, with water levels extremely low, as you can tell by the coast line.

Looking to the east, back towards Austin, one can see spectacular homes and mansions. Many are located down dirt roads, all around the lake in what is known as Texas Hill Country.
