Hilton Head and Disney, September 2001 --> beginning

We were able to get cheaper plane tickets by flying into Orlando, then driving up to Hilton Head. The night before we departed for our Hilton Head vaction, we realized that our plane tickets were for 8:30 am instead of 11:30. So we packed up and left at 5:30 am.

This is a picture of our condo from the beach.

The condo we're in is about 600 square feet, rented from parents of friends of ours (thanks Jo!). The living room opens to a balcony with a courtyard view of the pool, and it's right on the beach.

We went to Sea Pines plantation first, where you can see this neat lighthouse.

A guy named Frasier built the lighthouse in the 70s and it was originally called "Frasier's Folly". It is now the most recognized landmark in South Carolina. Lunch was great and we walked out on the pier afterwards. We then walked around the marina and admired the big boats.

You know the boats are big when they have really big fishing poles attached.
