Hilton Head and Disney, September 2001 --> day in Orlando

Saturday September 8, 2001 We got up really really early and drove to Orlando. We made it to Disney by 11 in the morning.

We had a blast at Epcot. We ate lunch at the Canadian steakhouse, then walked the rest of the way around the international village. We walked around right when all the shows were going on, so we saw a neat drum show, an Indian balancing act, a Chinese acrobatic troup, all before it started to rain.

The neatest ride we went on was the Exxon energy ride with a dinosaur display. It was quite realistic -- especially considering it was a few years old. And it was play-acted by Ellen Degeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy. We enjoyed it thoroughly.

Because of the rain, they didn't have the Tapestry of Nations parade, and we didn't stay for the fireworks. But it was quite a day and we were bushed.

We stayed at the Port Orleans hotel for the evening before flying back the next morning. I have to say, the service at Disney was impeccable. What an amazing place.
